Section One: The First Awakener
The First Awakener: Shaykh Ahmad

2 He is therefore known as Shaykh Ahmad-i-Ahsá’à meaning Shaykh Ahmad from Ahsá. Shaykh is a title [means elder or head] and usually used as a title for a leader of a group. Because Ahsá was part of Bahrain at the time of Shaykh Ahmad, he is sometimes also called Shaykh Ahmad-i-Bahraynà [e.g. in Dawn-Breakers Chapter 15, p276]. Ahsá is now part of the Saudi Arabia and no longer part of Bahrain.
