HĂĄjĂ MĂrzĂĄ ĂqĂĄsĂâs plan to arrest BahĂĄâuâllĂĄh derailed
The timing of the death of Muhammad ShĂĄh derailed the other plans his Grand VazĂr [HĂĄjĂ MĂrzĂĄ ĂqĂĄsĂ] had made against the BĂĄbĂ Cause, 54ACT7 which included targeting BahĂĄâuâllĂĄh. When the news of the activities at Badasht had reached the Grand VazĂr, he had renewed his convincing of Muhammad ShĂĄh to arrest BahĂĄâuâllĂĄh, with the goal to have Him killed. An edict to arrest BahĂĄâuâllĂĄh and bring Him to the capital was issued and sent to NĂșr. The post-Badasht incident at NĂyĂĄlĂĄ had occurred in mid-July, so by the time the edict had been issued, BahĂĄâuâllĂĄh was in the MĂĄzindarĂĄn NĂșr region. NabĂl recounts 55ACT7 that the edict was sent to a high-ranking officer in NĂșr, who sent it to his son to carry it out. This officerâs son was a great admirer of BahĂĄâuâllĂĄh and got the edict the day before a reception he had planned in honour of BahĂĄâuâllĂĄh. He was very distressed and did not tell anyone about it, including BahĂĄâuâllĂĄh. But BahĂĄâuâllĂĄh perceived that he was very sad about something, but did not probe and instead advised him to put his trust in God to relieve him of his dilemma. The next day, as BahĂĄâuâllĂĄh and the officerâs son were going to his house for the reception, they encountered a horseman who was coming from the direction of TihrĂĄn carrying the news âMuáž„ammad ShĂĄh is dead!â. It was then that the officerâs son showed BahĂĄâuâllĂĄh the ShĂĄhâs edict calling for His arrest. The edict had now lost its validity. BahĂĄâuâllĂĄh was free.
The fall of HĂĄjĂ MĂrzĂĄ ĂqĂĄsĂ
With the death of Muhammad ShĂĄh, his idolized tutor and Grand VazĂr, HĂĄjĂ MĂrzĂĄ ĂqĂĄsĂ, fell from his all-powerful position.
