QuddĂșs comes to ShĂrĂĄz
It is early 1845. Following the BĂĄbâs instructions, QuddĂșs leaves BĂșshihr and comes to ShĂrĂĄz. He is carrying the BĂĄbâs letter to His middle uncle, HĂĄjĂ MĂrzĂĄ Siyyid âAlĂ
. The BĂĄb has also given QuddĂșs a copy of one of His latest Writings â the
KhasĂĄâil-i-Sabâih [The Seven Qualifications] â a treatise in which the BĂĄb sets out the essential requirements needed from those who have attained and accepted this new Revelation. He asks QuddĂșs to share this together with the BĂĄbâs loving embrace with the souls who accept His Message.
Middle Uncle of the BĂĄb Recognizes the Station of his Nephew
Of His three uncles,
1ACT4 the BĂĄb was closest to his middle uncle, HĂĄjĂ MĂrzĂĄ Siyyid âAlĂ
, because he had taken care of the BĂĄb after the BĂĄbâs fatherâs passing. This middle uncle had always sensed there was something special about his Nephew but did not know exactly what. Arriving in ShĂrĂĄz, QuddĂșs arranges a visit with him and delivers the letter and greetings from the BĂĄb. QuddĂșs finds the uncle is eager to learn more about what has been happening with the BĂĄb and receptive to learn the truth about his Nephew. QuddĂșs therefore lays out the BĂĄbâs claim to being the
QĂĄâim and the bearer of a new Revelation from God. These conversations with QuddĂșs lead to the middle uncleâs acceptance of his Nephewâs Message and Station, making him the first person in ShĂrĂĄz after the Letters of the Living to accept the Revelation of the BĂĄb. It is June 1846.
2ACT4 This uncle will now consecrate his whole life to defending the Cause of the BĂĄb, to shielding His Person, and will eventually lay down his life as one of the Seven Martyrs of TihrĂĄn.
