The next person Quddús meets in Shíráz is Mullá Sádiq
, who had been taught by Mullá Husayn in Isfáhán.
4ACT4. As soon as he learned about the Báb, Mullá Sádiq had left Isfáhán and headed to Shíráz to meet the Báb. But by the time he got to Shíráz, the Báb had already left to go on
Hajj. So Mullá Sádiq just waited in Shíráz for the Báb’s return and now met Quddús. Quddús conveyed to Mullá Sádiq the message the Báb had asked to be shared with all his new followers. Quddús also shared with Mullá Sádiq, a copy of the newly revealed
‘Khasá’il-i-Sab’ih [The Seven Qualifications]. One of the provisions in that work is that a believer in this new Revelation should insert certain words into the
adhán .The
adhán is the Islamic call to prayer, which is chanted five times a day from the minaret of every mosque.
5ACT4 The words to be inserted were: “I bear witness that He whose name is
‘Alí-qabl-i-Muhammad is the servant of the
Baqíyyatu’llah ”
6ACT4. The
adhán is of course considered to be sacrosanct by all Muslims and absolutely no change can be tolerated.
