      Mírzá Jání’s Dream

      Mírzá Jání
was a highly respected merchant of Káshán. He had been taught the Faith by Mullá Husayn when Mullá Husayn first travelled through Káshán [DB 4-7, Section 2]. Mírzá Jání also had happened to be on Hajj at the same time as the Báb and Quddús, and he had met them in Mecca. 75ACT5
As the Báb was secretly being escorted to Tihrán, none of the other believers, except for His amanuenses, knew anything about His whereabouts. One night, Mírzá Jání dreamed he was standing late in the afternoon at the gate of ‘Attár, one of the gates of the city of Káshán, when his eyes suddenly beheld the Báb on horseback. The Báb was not wearing His customary turban, but instead had the hat usually worn by the merchants of Persia. Before Him, as well as behind Him, marched horsemen into whose custody He seemed to have been delivered. As they approached the gate, the Báb saluted him and said: “Hájí Mírzá Jání, We are to be your Guest for three nights. Prepare yourself to receive Us.” 76ACT5
