About five years later, Khadíjih Bagum had another dream. This time Fátima, the Prophet Muhammad’s daughter, came to her house to discuss a marriage proposal. In Khadíjih Bagum’s dream, as she and her two sisters entered the room to greet and welcome her, the blessed Fátima rose up and kissed Khadíjih Bagum on her forehead (a sign of her blessing and consent). The day after that dream, the Báb’s mother paid a visit to Khadíjih Bagum’s house to ask for the hand of one of the sisters to marry the Báb. As soon as Khadíjih Bagum and her two sisters walked into the room, the Báb’s mother got up, went over to Khadíjih Bagum and kissed her on the forehead, exactly as in her dream. 91ACT2 Soon thereafter, in August 1842, the Khadíjih Bagum and the Báb were married. She was twenty and the Báb was twenty-three years old.
The House of the Báb in Shíráz
Upon getting married, Khadíjih Bagum and the Báb moved into the Báb’s modest house.
92ACT2 This house had two stories with a small inner courtyard. This courtyard had a small pond and a little garden with an orange tree (planted by the Báb Himself). The household consisted of the married couple (Khadíjih Bagum and the Báb), the Báb’s mother, and two much-cherished servitors, both of African descent: Fiddih

94ACT2 . It was in the upper chamber of this house that the Báb declared His mission to Mullá Husayn and it was in this House that the Letters of the Living came to meet the Báb in their search for the Promised One.
The House of the Báb in Shíráz has a unique place in Bábí-Bahá’í history. It is one of the two sites designated for pilgrimage by Bahá’u’lláh in the Kitáb-i-Aqdas95ACT2 .The other site is the House of Bahá’u’lláh in Baghdád. The House of the Báb was completely destroyed by the Islamic regime of Iran in 1979. However, all the details of the House have been meticulously documented, so that it can be rebuilt in the future.
